About Us
A gallery built around the work, and the people who make it
Vermillion Arts Gallery opened in Kolkata to give contemporary practitioners a serious, well-documented place to show — and to give collectors the context they need to buy with confidence.
Our Story
Contemporary art, carefully placed
We began as a working studio space shared by a handful of painters and printmakers. What the group needed was not more wall space, but proper records: accurate titles, dimensions, provenance and photography that did the work justice.
That instinct still shapes the gallery. Every artist we represent has a maintained profile, every work is catalogued before it is hung, and every sale carries its documentation forward to the next owner.
Today the programme spans watercolour and oil painting, sculpture in bronze and steel, etching and linocut, documentary photography, textile installation and generative digital work.

What We Do
Four things we take seriously
Representation
We work with a focused roster, building each artist's exhibition history, catalogue and market with care rather than volume.
Curation
Every show is researched and hung in-house, with writing and documentation prepared for collectors and institutions.
Cataloguing
Each work is recorded with provenance, medium, dimensions and condition so its history stays intact for future owners.
Placement
We advise private collectors, architects and museums on acquisitions, commissions and long-term collection strategy.
